To illustrate myself as an 8-Bit figure. Furthermore getting the appropriate pixelated look of Retro Games is crucial. I decided to work with voxel (volumetric pixel) in order to achieve that.
Starting with a grid based pixel sketch for reference and transferring it into 3ds Max in order to create polygon meshes with different depths. Besides working with a defined color scale to embody a retro look.
Developing an appreciation to the old 8-Bit era and the games which were developed back then. Moreover it awakens one’ childhood memory.
